PROJECT UPDATES

Gold Star Memorial Bridge I-95 Southbound Rehabilitation Project Update:

May 18, 2018 – Upcoming Traffic Stage Change

Stage Change. The number of lanes across the Gold Star Bridge is to be increased from 3 to 4 lanes and the Bridge Street On-Ramp is to be re-opened on I-95 Southbound at the Gold Star Bridge beginning May 25, 2018. Nighttime lane closures will begin on May 21, 2018 to shift temporary concrete barrier curbs and reconfigure roadway pavement markings.

The I-95 SB travel lanes shall remain on the south side of the bridge and State Route 184 (Gold Star Highway) on-ramp will continue as a dedicated lane. The new right lane will begin as a dedicated lane for the Bridge Street on ramp. The roadway pavement markings will be reconfigured to delineate 4 lanes of traffic across the bridge. The work zone will be separated from the roadway with temporary concrete barrier curb. Thru-traffic will keep to the left three lanes. The right lane will remain a dedicated exit lane at Exit 84 to Route 32.

The sidewalk will remain open during construction. Live construction activities are continuing at the parapets and bridge deck adjacent to the sidewalk. Expect minor impacts to normal sidewalk use as the sidewalk may narrow in areas of improvement. Everyone should exercise care and caution in the work zones.
